Interaktive Whiteboards auch geeignet für Sonderschulen

Lee Wilson, Präsident und CEO von PCI Bildung, berichtet im Blog "The Educational Business Blog" von seinen Eindrücke an der National Education Computing Conference (#NECC09) in Washington, wo Smart Technologies und Promethean Ihre Produkte präsentierten. Sein Ziel war es zu beurteilen, ob Interaktive Whiteboards ins Verlagsprogramm von PCI Bildung aufgenommen werden sollen. Dieser Verlag entwickelt und vertreibt Ressourcen für Sonderschulen in den USA; speziell für Kinder mit geistiger Behinderung oder mit Entwicklungsstörungen wie beispielsweise Autismus.

Sein Fazit:
I'm excited about what IWB's can do for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) (the market PCI serves). The ability to project large images and the engagement that comes with directly interacting with the media have the potential to improve instructional outcomes. The boards are kinesthetic, visual, and with the addition of speakers even auditory. All students can benefit from this, but IDD students in particular should get a boost.
